Veteran's Day

Today, we are offering a 10% discount for everyone in honor of Veteran's Day!
(No coupon is needed...just mention this Blog post.)

And, speaking of Veterans...have you ever been to Washington DC to visit any of the memorials? If not, you should really go.

Last Christmas, we took my Grandfather to the WWII Memorial in DC. He was serving in Hawaii during the attack on Pearl Harbor. His brother was captured as a POW after his plane was shot down in Europe. And, his brother was eventually liberated by his cousin's unit, but this wasn't known until many years later. So...there is a lot of family history surrounding WWII.

Here is my Grandfather in front of the wall of stars. Each of the 4,048 gold stars represents 100 Americans who died during the war.

The design of the WWII Memorial is incredible. It really is a must see.

And...speaking of DC...two years ago on Veteran's Day, we took the kids to visit EVERY memorial. It was a CRAZY day, but an important history lesson for them. Here are some pictures from that trip.

While you're there, be sure to seek out the hidden Einstein statue...very cool :)

Thank you to all who have served and paved the way for our freedom. Have a GREAT day!
