Happy Small Business Saturday!

Today is the day when we should escape the craziness of the big chain stores and support the small businesses in our area.

I absolutely love this quote taken from a USA Today article (read the entire article here):

Your community wins: For every $100 spent at a local store, $68 stays in your community (according to research firm Civic Economics). That compares with only $43 when you shop at a chain store. Your town gets healthier — and that means the value of your home, the quality of your schools, the response rate of your fire department — all benefit when you shop at a small, local store.
