December Calendar

Can you believe it's almost December?!? Time flies when you're having fun!

During this busy month, we've scaled down our classes because we know that everyone is busy preparing for the big day. Look for more exciting classes and new instructors in the New Year!

There are, however, some important events to highlight in December:

* December 6: Kris from QuicKutz will be here ALL DAY! Stay tuned for more details!

* December 6: Holiday Open House 1- 4 p.m. (more details to come)

* December 18: Kid Drop / Dad Shop 5 - 8 p.m. This is the perfect time for your husband and kids to come in, look at your wish list (you HAVE filled one out, haven't you??) and get your Christmas present! We'll have movies and popcorn for the kids...discounts AND gift wrapping for the husbands. Be sure to tell them about this special night, otherwise, you might wind up with another pair of fuzzy socks to go with last year's Christmas sweater :)

* Kid's Classes: Since the kids have off 2 whole weeks this Christmas, we've set up 3 different classes for them. Get them OFF the Wii and ON to something creative!

Check out the calendar for other classes, a Locals Only day and free crops. Plus, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting Red Mill Commons!

It's official...
Donna Downey is here!

She'll be teaching classes ALL day and signing books from 4-5 today. (Please arrive in time for you to get in line and have your book signed before 5...the woman's gotta have time for a quick dinner and then a night class!)

In addition to her books, she's also bringing lots of other goodies with her...brand new shirts/sweatshirts, prints, aprons, class kits (including the new Fa La La kit shown in the picture!), messenger bags, buttons, stamps and more!

Again, her book signing will be TODAY from 4 - 5!

Just to clarify...the book signing for Donna Downey will be held this SUNDAY, October 26 (not Saturday) from 4 - 5 p.m.

We will have her books available in addition to exclusive Donna Downey products. If you have a book you would like her to sign, you are welcome to bring it.

And, while we're on the subject...check out Donna's blog. She mentions coming to Virginia and all the cool NEW things she's going to bring with her! SO EXCITING!!!

Donna Downey will be here in 5 days! There is limited availability in some of her classes, so if you're interested, call soon.

For those signed up already, we have received some items that are on her supply lists (workable fixative, medium gel, acrylic paints, buttons, sanding blocks, paint dabbers, eyelets, crop-a-diles, colored ink pads, tacky glue, and a very limited supply of watercolor crayons). Stop by the store because there will NOT be enough for everyone. Please note that the Making Memories Funky Vintage Chartreuse will be available for purchase on Sunday - if you need a bottle, please put your name on the list.

Even if you're not taking a class, stop by during Donna's book signing from 4 - 5 p.m. on Saturday! (We will have books and other Donna Downey merchandise for sale at that time.)

Scrap Pink Crop and Pink Bike Raffle

It's time for Scrap Pink again!

Here is the information for our official Scrap Pink crop:

Who: YOU!

What: Our 2nd Annual Scrap Pink crop with proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure. Last year, we had a BLAST while raising over $1200!

When: Saturday, October 25th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Where: Beach Scrapbooks, of course!

Why?: to have fun, get some layouts done and raise money for a breast cancer cure

How much?: $25 - Lunch will be provided, and a portion of this fee will be donated.

Hump Day is BACK!

The kids are almost back in school...evenings are getting a bit cooler...tourist season is coming to an end...do you know what that means?!?

Hump Day Happy Hours are coming back!

That's right, starting NEXT week, Hump Day Happy Hour is every Wednesday from 4:30 - 6:30. Bring yourself and $5. We'll provide all the materials and ideas for a one page layout. What a great way to get your creative juices flowing again after a busy summer! This is just our way of helping you get through the work week :)

Fall is upon us...

Happy Saturday! It looks like it's going to be another beautiful day :) I love it when the weather starts to cool down in the evenings...it reminds me that both school and a new season are upon us.

And, a new season brings lots of new things going on at the store...

1. New product continues to arrive daily. Look for two new collections from Piggy Tales in the store today - Old King Cole and Billy Goat's Gruff. The names, however, have nothing to do with the themes! Old King Cole is all about music...music notes, guitars, keyboards and drums. Billy Goat's Gruff is about bikes...both adult bikes and tricycles. Samples are at the bottom of this post.

2. Beach Retreat...there are only 13 spots left for our weekend event in October. Remember, September 1st is the cutoff for the early bird registration fee AND the group rate at the hotel. Make your reservations today!

3. Scrap Pink is the last weekend in October. We are NOT doing the 3 day crop this year...we've got some other exciting ways to celebrate Scrap Pink. Pencil us in and watch for details!

4. There will be a special QuicKutz Club event in November that you won't want to miss! Remember, you can join at anytime.

5. Right now, there are some amazing sales going on for QuicKutz. Squeeze tools for $29.99 (reg. $89.99), Revolutions for $59.99 (reg. $149.99) and the Silhouettes for $199.99 (reg. $369.99). These are AMAZING prices...especially the Silhouette! I will be teaching a Silhouette class in September, so now's the perfect time to add one to your collection. (Speaking of the Silhouette...did you see the lastest kitchen/baking downloads? LOVE 'em!)

And, let's not forget the 40% sale for the 2x2 and 4x4 shape dies. We have another shipment of dies arriving on Wednesday, so the wall will once again be completely restocked. Sale ends August 31st.

6. September brings back Hump Day Happy Hour! Bring yourself and $5 to join in on the fun. We'll provide all the supplies needed to make a single page layout...all you need to do is add the pictures when you get home! Join us on Wednesdays, anytime between 4:30 and 6:30.

7. On shelves TOMORROW...Basic Grey! 3 new BEAUTIFUL collections!

Now that school's about to start, I will be in the store most mornings and look forward to catching up with everyone! I feel like I haven't seen some of you in months. In fact, I'll be working this evening...stop by and say hi!
