In response to the dozens of emails and phone calls we've received over the past 24 hours, let us confirm that Beach Scrapbooks IS coming out with a new QuicKutz exclusive die!

Here's the scoop:

~ the title is Sea Creatures

~ it is a border die, however it has been carefully designed so that each of the 9 shapes can be used as individual 2x2s

~ the price is only $34.99!

~ we WILL be accepting orders through our website, just like we did with our exclusive Mermaid

~ we will be ready to start taking orders in about 2 weeks

~ we will ship international :)

~ we are in the process of setting up all the shipping charges, so thank you for your patience

~ as a big fat THANK YOU to all our local customers who support us year 'round, we are giving them the opportunity to place their orders now (without them, our exclusive dies would not be possible!)

~ all other orders will be accepted via our website (again, in about two weeks)

~ we have ordered an initial shipment of 600 dies (we ARE open to reordering if there is interest!)

~ there will be a limit of 2 dies per person

~ we do not like our exclusives going for ridiculous amounts on E-bay (why should you pay $75 on the big E, when you can buy it here for $34.99??), so we will NOT be posting them there. We thank all of you for supporting your local scrapbook stores :)

~ Sea Creatures should be arriving at our store in December (QuicKutz has not given us an exact date...so...when we know, you'll know!)

Donna Downey is here!

She'll be teaching classes ALL day and signing books from 4-5 today. (Please arrive in time for you to get in line and have your book signed before 5...the woman's gotta have time for a quick dinner and then a night class!)

In addition to her books, she's also bringing lots of other goodies with her...brand new shirts/sweatshirts, prints, aprons, class kits (including the new Fa La La kit shown in the picture!), messenger bags, buttons, stamps and more!

Again, her book signing will be TODAY from 4 - 5!

For those signed up already, we have received some items that are on her supply lists (workable fixative, medium gel, acrylic paints, buttons, sanding blocks, paint dabbers, eyelets, crop-a-diles, colored ink pads, tacky glue, and a very limited supply of watercolor crayons). Stop by the store because there will NOT be enough for everyone. Please note that the Making Memories Funky Vintage Chartreuse will be available for purchase on Sunday - if you need a bottle, please put your name on the list.

Even if you're not taking a class, stop by during Donna's book signing from 4 - 5 p.m. on Saturday! (We will have books and other Donna Downey merchandise for sale at that time.)

Attention Stampers!

New arrivals from Inkadinkado, including the newly popular Inchies (stamps that are one inch by one inch and punch out beautifully with a one inch square punch)! We put them out today and customers were buying them off the counter before they made it on the hooks :)

QuicKutz Retailer Event

Okay, I was not drinking and videoing. I promise! I know it's a bit shakey, but I was trying to video around all these big heads while laughing hysterically. The QK Retailer Event started today and the first order of business was introducing all the sales reps. They came out wearing cheesy sweaters and sporting moustaches. They sang a song which immediately set the tone of the week. What a super bunch of guys with LOTS of courage! Of course, Kris (our rep extraordinaire) was the best singer out of the group...hmmm...maybe he'll sing for you when he visits our store in December!

And...we've seen the holiday limited gift sets. Woo hoo! Love, love, love it! It's hard to keep a secret, but you know the rules :) However...we are not above bribes.

I promise to upload some pictures from the event tomorrow (perhaps a few butt shots?). And, let me clarify...the picture Melissa used below is NOT the QK guys!

Utah!

Melissa...you are SO busted! You should know by now that I don't leave home without my laptop!! Lucky for you, we are thousands of miles away AND in classes all day today - until midnight to be exact.

I just wanted to post some pictures from our first day in Utah. Janice and I are here for QuicKutz Retailer's event titled "Deck the Hall" (hmmm...could that be a hint for the new gift sets being released later this month??). The QK festivities officially begin today, so we got to do a little sightseeing yesterday on our way to visit American Crafts. We toured the American Crafts offices, saw where they manufacture their own pens (no pictures allowed!) and got to hang out in their product room. IWe wanted everything! We absolutely love their Christmas line...we placed a rather large order, including Thickers and Modern Albums. We've had lots of requests for both...they should be here in a couple weeks.

Oh yea, one more thing. The QuicKutz guys are sporting mustaches...what's up with that?!?! Watch the blog, and I'll report back when I have some free time :)

And, don't let Melissa and her uni-brow party too hard while we're gone (read below)!

the mice will play! Isn't that how the saying goes? Well, Jen and Janice are in Utah for a few days attending a retail event hosted by Quickutz. That leaves me, Melissa, in charge...WOOOOO HOOOOO! Party at my store!!!! I think we'll do something crazy this week with those punch cards you've been collecting so keep checking the blog.

Tomorrow morning I'm hitting the back office and receiving new product that arrived, followed by a long overdue eyebrow waxing. I'll keep you posted...on the product...not my eyebrows. What: Our 2nd Annual Scrap Pink crop with proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure. Last year, we had a BLAST while raising over $1200!

When: Saturday, October 25th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Where: Beach Scrapbooks, of course!

Why?: to have fun, get some layouts done and raise money for a breast cancer cure

How much?: $25 - Lunch will be provided, and a portion of this fee will be donated.
