Beach Retreat Update

Okay, if you read the previous post about the DoubleTree Hotel reservation issue...IT HAS BEEN RESOLVED!!! Good grief, Charlie Brown - what a relief!

We are good to go, so please make your reservation :)

By the way, there's only a handful of spots left for the retreat. Woo hoo!!!

Problem with DoubleTree Hotel reservations

If you need a hotel room for the Beach Retreat, please read the following:

One of our staff called today to make her reservation and was told that our room block has been filled. The hotel also said they could not honor the group rate, but they could give her a room at a higher rate.

If this happens to you, please go ahead and MAKE THE RESERVATION anyway.

This information is incorrect, but we can't do anything about it until Tuesday (everyone left early today because it is a holiday weekend!).

Here's what to do:

1. Make the reservation at the rate they assign you (even though it is higher than our advertised group rate).
2. Email jen@beachscrapbooks.com and let her know you've made the reservation and the name the room is under.
3. I will contact the reservations manager on Tuesday and have her switch the price to the correct group rate.
4. Please note that your credit card does not get charged until that weekend, so there will not be a charge for reserving the room.

If you haven't already made your reservation, what are you waiting for? :)

We are EXCITED for a GREAT weekend!!! Now, if only I could start getting myself organized...

We'll miss you, Dawn!

Every Friday, there is a dedicated group of customers who come in and crop. Sometimes, there's more socializing and laughter going on than cropping, but they always have a good time! This is an amazing group of people who have become friends over time.

One of our friends is moving. Pictured here in the yellow shirt is Dawn. She is moving to Pennsylvannia to be closer to her son, daughter-in-law and adorable grandson.

Dawn, on behalf of all our staff and regular Friday croppers, I wish you much happiness in this new stage of your life. Enjoy that grandbaby and be sure to keep in touch! Thank you for your support over the past year and a half, and thank you for your kindess to my family. You will be missed!

Lots New!

A few new things to tell you about:

1. I am LOVIN' the new Basic Grey! Among other things, the Ambrosia collection (the one with all the orange) could be used for a great Halloween layout. Not necessarily one of the kids, but more along the lines of how you decorate your house. You know, more of a sophisticated, adult layout.

2. The new QuicKutz release is great, and the samples in the store are adorable. QK Club members - the free Exclusive Recipe Card (with any $35 purchase) is going fast, so come in soon! Also, your free Rolling Pin awaits you - or punch it out with yellow cardstock and make it a corn-on-the-cob!

3. The new Bon Appetit collection by Theresa Collins is on shelves. And, by the way, it goes GREAT with the QuicKutz release! (it's the black/white/green papers in the slideshow above)

4. We have a whole new collection of inks by Ranger. New ink pads (each color comes in 3 different shades for your stamping pleasure!), new alcohol inks, new distress reinkers and pigment ink pads. Also new from Ranger, Perfect Pearls! Use a little bit of Perfect Pearls with some water in a mini mister, and you've got yourself your own Glimmer Mist!

5. And, for all you Tim Holtz stalkers, we've got more of his embellishments in stock...Fragments, metal embellishments (gears, arrows, keys, etc.), rulers and more.

6. The 40% off sale for QuicKutz is still going strong. We received our last shipment of the month yesterday, so the wall is restocked and ready for you. Fall is upon us...

Happy Saturday! It looks like it's going to be another beautiful day :) I love it when the weather starts to cool down in the evenings...it reminds me that both school and a new season are upon us.

And, a new season brings lots of new things going on at the store...

1. New product continues to arrive daily. Look for two new collections from Piggy Tales in the store today - Old King Cole and Billy Goat's Gruff. The names, however, have nothing to do with the themes! Old King Cole is all about music...music notes, guitars, keyboards and drums. Billy Goat's Gruff is about bikes...both adult bikes and tricycles. Samples are at the bottom of this post.

2. Beach Retreat...there are only 13 spots left for our weekend event in October. Remember, September 1st is the cutoff for the early bird registration fee AND the group rate at the hotel. Make your reservations today!

3. Scrap Pink is the last weekend in October. We are NOT doing the 3 day crop this year...we've got some other exciting ways to celebrate Scrap Pink. Pencil us in and watch for details!

4. There will be a special QuicKutz Club event in November that you won't want to miss! Remember, you can join at anytime.

5. Right now, there are some amazing sales going on for QuicKutz. Squeeze tools for $29.99 (reg. $89.99), Revolutions for $59.99 (reg. $149.99) and the Silhouettes for $199.99 (reg. $369.99). These are AMAZING prices...especially the Silhouette! I will be teaching a Silhouette class in September, so now's the perfect time to add one to your collection. (Speaking of the Silhouette...did you see the lastest kitchen/baking downloads? LOVE 'em!)

And, let's not forget the 40% sale for the 2x2 and 4x4 shape dies. We have another shipment of dies arriving on Wednesday, so the wall will once again be completely restocked. Sale ends August 31st.

6. September brings back Hump Day Happy Hour! Bring yourself and $5 to join in on the fun. We'll provide all the supplies needed to make a single page layout...all you need to do is add the pictures when you get home! Join us on Wednesdays, anytime between 4:30 and 6:30.

Calling all wanna-be stampers!

So, you’ve finished your project and something is missing. What could it be? Maybe a stamping technique or two! Come join Jody this Sunday, August 17th to learn different ways to use acrylic stamps and ink pads.

She will be teaching lots of techniques, and you will be putting your samples on a key ring for future reference. The ring part is VERY cool! This way...you won't forget :)

Back from Alaska and ready to crop!

Hello everyone! I'm back in the lower 48 and ready to start scrappin' our family cruise to Alaska! (That's all 12 of us in the picture standing in front of the Hubbard Glacier.) Let me just say that it was absolutely beautiful there...the weather was in the 50s...we saw whales practically every day...and the snow capped mountains were just amazing. If you've ever thought of cruising to Alaska, I say go for it...you will love it!

The 24 hour Crop Around the Clock crop is this weekend, and I'll be there in the wee hours of the morning croppin' away! There's still room if you'd like to sign up...I think when I talked to Susan this morning, she said there were 6 or 7 seats still available. Join us - it's going to be a blast!
