Another snow day???

EDITED @ 4:45 p.m. ---- We are closing the store now due to the icy road conditions that are expected to occur this evening as the temperatures drop. We plan on being open tomorrow at noon...any exceptions will be noted on this blog. Stay warm, enjoy the beautiful snow and drive SAFE!


What is going on with our CRAZY weather?!?

Watch our blog for more information regarding our store hours...it will all depend on the weather this afternoon/evening.

In the meantime, get out there and get your essentials...bread, milk and scrapbook supplies!

And...we've put out a few new ones as well. Additions to the collection include 4 Glimmer Mist colors designed by the lovely and talented Heidi Swapp...Black Magic, Electric Blue, Silver Sugar and Viva Pink (shown below).

NEW Flower Soft

First...how many of you have the Polar White Flower Soft? It's PERFECT for all those snow layouts! If you don't have any of the white in your stash, today's your lucky day as we just received a whole new batch :)


















New to our Flower Soft collection are "Toppers". They are preprinted designs that you embellish with the Flower Soft. Then, you simply add the Toppers to the front of a card and VOILA!...your friends will think you are simply amazing :) Little will they know that it is sooo incredibly easy! These cards are perfect for Spring and Easter. (And...speaking of Spring...who wants to smack that little ground hog on the head?!?!)
























Another product that is also brand spankin' new...ULTRA FINE Flower Soft! These are much finer than the original Flower Soft which means it will give realistic dimension on much SMALLER images. It's great for adding realistic fur, texture and dimension to all of your detailed papercraft projects. (While we were at CHA, all the stampers were going crazy over this stuff!)


















The new Ultra Fine comes in 8 different colors and uses the same glue as the original Flower Soft.


I know it's a little blurry, but I hope you can see the Ultra Fine on these teddy bears. I used the Toffee and Sand colors so you could tell them apart. (Remember...click on any image to enlarge...this will make it easier to see the detail.)

We are OPEN! Our sidewalks and parking lots have been cleared :)

OPEN TODAY FROM 12 - 5!

A couple of housekeeping notes:
-we ARE open today from 12-5 for those who venture out...please be SAFE.
-Tina's Heritage Class that was scheduled for today has been rescheduled for Feb. 13th from 4-7 p.m. and will follow the February Heritage Class. If you can't make it, please send her an email and she will set a makeup date for you!

I got several emails full of fun snow pictures! My kids were out ALL day in the snow. My dryer was ON practically all day. Hat, gloves, jacket, repeat. SNOW much FUN!

Interestingly enough...I got quite a lot of DOG pictures! All you dog lovers are gonna flip over the new Basic Grey pet collection coming soon :)

To start the blog photo album, here's a couple more pictures from me...my dog Reese (pronounced like Reese's Peanut Butter Cups) absolutely LOVED the snow. He was out in it for so long that he had ice/snowballs frozen on to his hair. I had to sit him in front of the fireplace with a hairdryer to defrost him :) Needless to say, he was NOT happy about the drying off part :)





My brother's dog, Ashley...who, by the way, did NOT enjoy the snow!

Here are some pics of Tina's backyard. As you can see they have already gotten a foot of snow at 4pm and were supposed to get more after 7pm. The black dog is a minature lab and she hates water her name is sasha, the other dog is chewie. The kid all bundled up is her daughter Nomi.




Dee's pics...The first pic is of her youngest nephew Dave, who all he wanted to do was throw a snowball. Once he did that he was done with the snow.

Can you believe it?!? Real, live, white, cold SNOW!

Because of the snow, Beach Scrapbooks will be CLOSED TODAY.

My kids were so giddy this morning, they went outside just before 8:00. I'm sure the neighbors were thrilled...

Colby wanted to shovel the sidewalk for us. Isn't that nice? It's practically covered again, so I'm sure he will be shoveling a few times today. Wonder how many times he'll shovel before he realizes that it's really NOT all that fun :)























Marisa and our dog Reese had fun just running through the snow. It's really the first time either of them have ever seen any snow accumulation. I'm not sure who had more fun!


This ruler shot was taken at around 8 this morning. It's been snowing like crazy since then, so I know it's more by now.

Hump Day!

It's Wednesday and that means there is a fabulous Hump Day kit available for only $5! It is AMAZING, WONDERFUL, and SUPER CUTE and I MADE IT! HAHAHAHA! Melissa here, taking over the blog for a second. I spoke to Jen this morning as she was leaving for the airport. She has tons of photos from CHA that she will post tomorrow...or as soon as she recovers from her jet lag. Have a wonderful day and pop in to keep Amy company this afternoon. And...to pick up my AMAZING and WONDERFUL Hump Day kit!

Way to go USSNEWCO! You get an A :) And, Narda...well...you get an A for effort!!

The first one, who wishes flat tires on people, is none other than BARRY! (His answers actually made me laugh out loud.) This picture was taken during our staff crop when Barry was creating one of his fabulous Christmas ornaments. His talent is simply ah-mazing! If you've never taken one of his card classes, you should!!

Next up...our very own xylophone player...JANICE! Here she is with her always-helping-around-the-store husband Donny. And, for those who don't know, Janice is my mother...together, we own this crazy little place called Beach Scrapbooks :)

And, last but certainly not least...ME! This is my beautiful family at Busch Garden's Christmas Town last month (freezing our butts off I might add)...my husband Jason and our two kids, Colby and Marisa.

The staff person who wasn't featured here is Elizabeth. (She was visiting her mother out of town and NOT on the computer - what a concept!!) But, we still love her, and she's a great addition to our team :)

So, there ya have it. Personally, I think we have the most fabulous staff around - they are a group of men and women who not only work at a scrapbook store, but have a passion for their hobby and love sharing it with YOU!
