Happy Hump Day!

Normally, we invite you to join us in the evenings for a Hump Day Happy Hour. Today, and every Wednesday in February, we will have our kits available ALL day (while supplies last). When the store opens at 9 a.m., we'll have 2 kits available for $5 each. Each week in February, 2 different layouts will be featured.

The last time we got the Graphic 45 collection in stock, most of it sold out in only 2 days. These are beautiful, double sided papers that are about as vintage as vintage gets!

Their third and newest collection, Transatlantique, is shipping on March 1st!

So VERY exciting!

So...I'm a bit tired this morning. Why, you ask? Because I was up late playing with the new Silhouette SD software!!! That's right...QuicKutz hasn't officially announced it yet, but the download link is on their website. OH HAPPY DAY!! The one touch welding and the shadow feature are amazing. I was wasting paper last night like a crazy woman - cutting out words and shapes for absolutely no reason at all, except to play. I was totally in my happy place :)

Here's the scoop though...the download takes a while. My suggestion would be to start it at night before you go to bed. I downloaded it on Friday night, and it took 3 hours and 5 minutes. Keep in mind, my laptop is a bit old so it might be slower than yours. Second, install the software on a week day. I had a driver issue. Thankfully, my husband was able to fix it for me. But...if I didn't have a computer genius husband, I would need QuicKutz support - and they are obviously not there on the weekend. If anything goes wrong or doesn't work properly, PLEASE give them a call. Brian and Derrick at QK are the best support guys ever. (Tell them I said that if you call!!)

Edited>>>>I think QK may have 'revised' their download link, because it downloaded MUCH faster (25 minutes) at the store today. Love, love, LOVE it!

A reminder that this software is FREE to current Silhouette users. And, it works. I am witness to that as I was obsessed last night with welding words over and over and over! I must say though, I've already put my order in for the new Silhouette SD. I'm a technology freak, I admit it.

Perhaps the most frequently asked question we get regarding the acrylic is 'what do you use for adhesive?' The answer to that would be Glossy Accents - it's a liquid glue! Also, don't forget that the Ranger Alcohol Inks go GREAT on acrylic!

On our way home!

It's been a GREAT week! We've worked really hard to find new and exciting products to bring home. You haven't seen many samples on here because we'll be showing you lots on Sunday. (Remember...CHA Overview is at 1 p.m., the QuicKutz raffle drawing is at 2 p.m.)

Last night, we were able to enjoy a whole 4 hours of Disney. Can you believe that Susan and Courtney have NEVER been to a Disney park?!? Obviously, we didn't get to do much, but we were able to see Mickey and ride a few rides. We are exhausted, our muscles ache from walking the show floor and we have totally tested our suitcase limits (with some great giveaways!). But, we had such a blast...it was a GREAT show, and we can't wait to share our ideas and new products with you!!

We're off to the airport...won't be home until midnight. So, don't call too early in the morning :) See you on Sunday!

Meet Theresa Collins! Theresa has introduced a few new collections this week, and they are FABULOUS! We took tons of pictures at her booth as her chipboard albums, altered items and layouts are absolutely beautiful. (You'll see them at the preview party on Sunday.) Plus, we'll be offering classes soon featuring Theresa Collins products. Many thanks to Theresa and her husband Ty for putting up with us for so long today :)

Snippets is in the house!

Update from CHA

That is so HOT! Yes, Paris Hilton was at CHA today. Lots of other celebrities are here too...Donna Downey (our favorite, of course), Theresa Collins, Heidi Swapp, Suze Weinberg, Tim Holtz, Claudine Hellmuth, Sandy Genovese and the men of QuicKutz (among others!).

Courtney and Susan had a fabulous day. This is their first time at CHA, and they are going crazy looking at all the new product and participating in all the make-n-takes. For me, it's like a mother watching their kids at Disney!

I do have a correction to make. In the last post, I mentioned new Silhouette blades that cut through different mediums such as chipboard. This is NOT the case. The chipboard, cork, metal and vellum are meant to be cut by the Revolution. NOT the Silhouette. The new Silhouette is awesome though. It uses a SanDisk memory stick and doesn't need to be attached to your laptop. (We'll explain more later.) Another new product by QuicKutz are Embossing Folders. They come in 3 sizes...2x2 (4 different designs in one package), A2 (perfect for card makers) and borders. The best part, they are priced at only $5.99! And...QK Club members get 20% off.

Some interesting changes are happening in our industry. You may have heard by now that Simple Scrapbooks magazine will run its last two issues in the next couple of months. After that, they are ceasing their publication. If you have paid for a monthly subscription, you might want to call them. We, of course, will have them in our store. They'll soon be collector's items!

Another company that is changing pretty drastically is Fiskars. Many of you love their punches (we ordered some new ones today that are awesome!) and their paper lines. Heidi Grace, Cloud 9, Kimberly Poloson and L'il Davis are all under the Fiskars name. After this release, these companies will no longer be a part of Fiskars. It's unclear at this point whether they will cease to exist or go elsewhere.

The good news is that we've seen some exciting, new products today. And, the better news is that we've seen a lot of prices come DOWN. Companies have realized that price really does matter, so they've redone their packaging and renegotiated rates based on the fact that oil prices have come down in price.
